Henry said that Salah made a mistake when he made statements expressing his desire to “revenge” the royal team, in reference to the loss of the same title against Real Madrid in 2018, when the Egyptian star was injured and left the stadium in the first half.
Despite the Egyptian star’s outstanding performance in the Paris final, Henry, the Arsenal legend, blamed him for his comments before the match.
He said in televised statements: “I always say something, do not speak before the final. Defeat Real Madrid and then speak and say it was revenge and all that.”
He continued, intending to direct his speech to Salah: “When you speak before the final, you have to win it.”
On the other hand, Henry praised Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, who played one of his best matches and saved his team from achievable goals.
“Liverpool had a lot but they faced Courtois. Remember what I said in the semi-final, people don’t give him the credit he deserves. He’s one of the best goalkeepers in the world.”
The Belgian goalkeeper received the award for the best player in the match for his efforts against Liverpool, especially his saving against a certain goal from Salah towards the end.
