(CNN) — Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, claims she was given as “food for wolves” as Prince Harry talks about “institutional manipulation” in Netflix’s new trailer for the second part of the couple’s docuseries, which airs this Thursday .
In the video, which was released on Monday, Harry talks about stepping back from royal duties and reflects on what might have happened to the couple “if we hadn’t left when we did.”
“Security was being taken away from us. Every person in the world knew where we were,” says Meghan.
In what appears to be video taken aboard the Sussexes’ flight to the US, Harry smiles and says: “We’re on the Freedom Flight.”
After the trailer cuts to Harry describing “institutional gaslighting,” the footage cuts to Meghan saying, “I wasn’t thrown to the wolves, I was handed over as food for the wolves.”
“They were willing to lie to protect my brother (Prince William), they were never willing to tell the truth to protect us,” adds Harry. However, he stops short of identifying who “they” is referring to in the brief preview.
Similar to the format of the first three episodes, the trailer offers an intimate glimpse into the couple’s lives, with personal footage and photographs interspersed with media coverage.
Tyler Perry, the filmmaker who offered the couple his California home after they left their lives in the UK, also appears in the trailer. “They wanted to be free to love and be happy,” she tells him. “I applauded that.”
In the first three episodes of the docuseries, the couple share intimate details of their courtship, point to “unconscious bias” within the royal family and criticize the media attention they received, particularly from the British tabloids.
Buckingham Palace said it would not comment on the docuseries when the first part premiered last Thursday.
The second part of the docuseries, directed by Liz Garbus, opens this Thursday.
