As the holiday season comes to a close, Pensacola’s highly celebrated Mardi Gras festival season is ready to kick off with Twelfth Night on Jan. 6. Here’s where to find king cakes in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties to help celebrate.

Pensacola Mardi Gras Kick-Off Celebration
Seville Quarter will be the first stop for Mardi Gras king cake with the official Mardi Gras Kick-Off event starting at 5 p.m. on Jan. 4. In addition to the music from the New Orleans Ramblers and over 40 floats, attendees will receive a free slice of king cake. However, the king cake is on a first come, first serve basis, so make sure you’re there when the slicing starts. For more details and information, visit PensacolaMardiGras.com.
Adonna’s Garden St. Café and Bakery

Adonna’s will be ready to go with a wide variety of king cake in early January, including cream cheese, cherry, apple and a selection of traditional and new flavors. Call the café if you would like to place a special order. Adonna’s typically has 10 to 20 king cakes available for walk-in customers each day during Mardi Gras season.
Apple Market

Apple Market will be offering various varieties of king cakes, including from Gambino’s Bakery outside of New Orleans, starting in mid-January.
Café Nola and Restaurant NOLA

Restaurant NOLA and Café NOLA will be offering king cakes at both locations in early January. Flavor varieties include traditional, praline and cream cheese brought in from Gambino’s Bakery in New Orleans.
Craft Bakery

Craft Bakery will be baking its signature 12-inch king cakes ($38) starting Jan. 7 with cinnamon sugar and cream cheese baked inside, as well as mini king cake loaves ($9) made of braided cinnamon sugar dough strands. Both are topped with a citrus milk glaze, the classic sugar trio and a baby. Orders can be placed in the store for any amount of 12-inch or mini loaves with a 48-hour notice but they will also have several of both type available for walk-in customers daily. Mini loaves will also be available for purchases with wholesale partners, The Farm and Bailey’s Market.
Chrisoula’s Cheesecake Shoppe

Chrisoula’s has a unique twist on the traditional king cake with king cake cheesecakes available beginning on Jan. 7. They will be offered in mini, personal and whole sizes. However, large, whole cheesecakes will be available by pre-order only.

Pensacola’s Fresh Market will be offering original, cream filled and cinnamon king cakes during 2025 Mardi Gras season.
Jackson’s Steakhouse

Jackson’s Steakhouse is kicking off carnival season with special menu features available from Jan. 3-4 to celebrate Twelfth Night. Specials include seafood gumbo, Chef Miko’s King Cake and a king cake cocktail. For reservations, call 850-469-9898.

Some of the specialty flavors offered in addition to the standard king cakes include strawberry cream cheese, plain cream cheese and cinnamon, blueberry cream cheese, apple cream cheese, cherry cream cheese, and Bavarian cream and cream cheese.
Publix
Several locations across Pensacola
Publix will once again offer king cakes this season, though availability will vary by location.
