Before the ball drops in Times Square to ring in the new year, Michigan football will look to end the 2024 college football season hoisting the ReliaQuest Bowl trophy.
But the Wolverines (7-5) will be without a considerable chunk of their depth chart when they take on No. 11 Alabama (9-3) on Tuesday at noon ET in Tampa, Florida.
Here’s what to know on which Michigan players are opting out of Tuesday’s ReliaQuest Bowl against Alabama, including those who have declared for the 2025 NFL draft or entered their names into the transfer portal:

As previously reported by the Detroit Free Press’ Tony Garcia, senior safety Makari Paige did not travel to Tampa with Michigan for the ReliaQuest Bowl. Paige, who has a year of eligibility remaining, finished with 45 tackles, four broken-up passes and two interceptions this season.
