The impeachment against Trump
A Manhattan grand jury voted to indict Trump in the case, three sources familiar with the matter told Trends Wide on Thursday. This is the first time in US history that a sitting or former president has faced criminal charges.
The accusation was presented sealed and will be shared in the coming days. The charges are not publicly known at this time, a source told Trends Wide.
The Manhattan district attorney’s office informed Trump’s legal team of the grand jury’s decision minutes after it was made public, according to the sources.
Shortly thereafter, Trump responded to the accusation with a statement that began by saying: “This is political persecution and election interference at the highest level in history.”
“From the moment I walked down the golden escalators of Trump Tower, and even before I was sworn in as President of the United States, the radical left-wing Democrats — the enemy of the working men and women of this country — have launched a witch hunt to destroy the movement Make America Great Again (“Make America Great Again)”.
