The FTSE 100 has surged to fresh record highs in 2017, but can that run continue through the rest of the year?

Chris Justham, of Seven IM, joins us on the Investing Show to look at what has done best over the past three to six months and whether those opportunities still hold.

Much of the FTSE 100’s performance has been credited to the fall in the pound, but at an individual company level over the past six months there has been a sharp recovery for some beaten down stocks.

A look back at the top ten Footsie risers over the past six months, shows a selection of banks, housebuilders and airlines leading the pack, as they bounced back from their immediate Brexit vote pain.

We look at whether those shares can keep rising, in the second half of the Investing Show below, and ask whether investors would be wise to look overseas for the rest of the year and the coming years ahead.

Meanwhile, in the first part of the Investing Show Richard Hunter of Wilson King IM, Nick Batsford of TipTV, and Simon Lambert, of This is Money, discuss the merits of US vs European markets.

The FTSE 100 index has risen substantially since the Brexit vote last June
