Lorenzo’s Locks: The 3 best bets you should consider for NFL Week 6
SportsPulse: Lorenzo is on a roll, like a Derrick Henry stiff arm kind of roll. He provides his three best bets for Week 6 in the NFL.
Cincinnati Bengals coach Zac Taylor’s decision to kick a field goal late in his team’s 27-3 loss to the Ravens did not sit well with Don “Wink” Martindale.
The Baltimore defensive coordinator was visibly upset on the sideline when Randy Bullock’s 38-yard field goal sailed through the uprights with 32 seconds remaining and the Ravens leading by 27 points. He screamed across the field, and when asked about his reaction Thursday, said via ESPN:
“He knew what it was because it was awful quiet when I yelled it across the field. There are some people that take that as a victory. We’ll see. We’ll have plenty to talk about the next time we play them.”
It’s unclear if Martindale was talking about Taylor or another member of the Bengals. The two AFC North teams are scheduled to play again Week 17.
According to ESPN Stats & Information, the field goal marked the fifth time in the last 50 years a team went for three points inside the final minute to avoid being shut out.
Martindale’s unit is the top scoring defense in the NFL through the first five weeks of the season (15.2 points per game) while allowing the fifth-most yards (335).
