### How to Play Powerball
Tickets cost $2 per play. To play, you must select five numbers from 1 to 69 and one red Powerball number from 1 to 26. To win the jackpot, a player’s ticket must match all six numbers drawn.
For an additional $1, players can add the “Power Play” option, which multiplies non-jackpot prizes by 2, 3, 4, 5, or 10 times. A “Quick Pick” option is also available for players who prefer to have their numbers randomly generated by a computer.
Powerball drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday shortly after 11 p.m. ET. If no jackpot winner emerges, the grand prize increases for the next drawing.
### Where to Buy Tickets
Powerball tickets can be purchased in person at various retailers, including gas stations, convenience stores, and grocery stores. In some states and U.S. territories, tickets can also be bought online through certified digital lottery couriers like Jackpocket.
