The winning numbers have been drawn for the Powerball jackpot of Wednesday, November 19, which stood at an estimated $593 million. The lump-sum cash option was valued at $277.6 million.
The winning numbers were 10, 31, 49, 51, and 68, with a Powerball of 19. The Power Play multiplier was 2x.
This jackpot has been climbing since September 6, when a monumental $1.787 billion prize—the second largest in Powerball history—was split between two winners in Missouri and Texas.
Meanwhile, the Mega Millions jackpot has reached $60 million, with a cash option of $27.7 million.
### How to Play Powerball
Powerball drawings take place three times a week on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. ET.
To play, you select five numbers from 1 to 69 and one Powerball number from 1 to 26. Tickets cost $2 per play. For an additional $1, players can add the Power Play feature, which multiplies non-jackpot prizes. A 10x multiplier is also available when the advertised jackpot is $150 million or less.
Prizes range from $4 for matching the Powerball to $1 million for matching all five white balls. Matching all six numbers wins the jackpot.
### Where and When to Buy Tickets
Powerball tickets are available for purchase in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. They can be bought at authorized retailers such as gas stations, convenience stores, and supermarkets. In some jurisdictions, tickets can also be purchased online through certified lottery couriers.
The deadline to purchase tickets varies by state, but it is typically one to two hours before the scheduled drawing. For example, the cutoff is 9:59 p.m. in New Jersey and 10 p.m. in New York.
### Winning the Lottery
The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are 1 in 292,201,338. The odds of matching all five white balls to win $1 million are 1 in 11,688,053.
Winners can choose between two payout options: an annuity paid out over 30 years with annual payments that increase by 5%, or a one-time lump-sum payment that is smaller than the advertised jackpot amount.
Whether a winner can remain anonymous depends on state law. Some states, such as New Jersey, allow winners to conceal their identity, while others require public disclosure of the winner’s name and hometown.
