President Donald Trump has signed a temporary spending bill that provides Fiscal Year 2021 funds for federal agencies into law on Sunday night to avoid a government shutdown, the White House said in a statement.

It comes as the US Senate voted unanimously on Sunday to extend federal funding until December 21 to avoid a government shutdown, giving lawmakers more time to pass a $ 900 billion aid package for COVID-19 linked to a larger government spending bill.
The current funding was due to expire at midnight on Sunday.
