With the crime is not negotiated

One of the most serious obstacles to peace in Colombia was trying to reconcile the relatives of the victims with the guerrillas. That’s why talking about negotiation is real nonsense, perhaps in the past there were agreements and compromises that attenuated or disguised the situation, cities that cleaned up some areas, but only transferred the problem to poor neighborhoods. Gone are the loyalties and even the Mafia’s codes of conduct.

Today organized crime has diversified its interests, it is not enough to solve one variant: drug trafficking, arms trafficking, human trafficking, organ trafficking, white slavery, money laundering, kidnapping, theft and sale of fuel, collection of flat, assaults, robberies of businesses and houses, theft of parts and vehicles, document trafficking, invasion of premises, murders; Well, we already have locations where they are the owners of the plaza, they put the price on scarce products such as lemon, chicken or avocado, of course they stock up on these products beforehand.

And yes, there are powerful cartels that concentrate on drug trafficking, we no longer know if they have control of 30 or 35% of the national territory, according to the former United States ambassador, Christoper Landau, or 70%, according to Guacamaya Leaks.

Negotiating does not solve, it only legitimizes the activity of criminals.

The solution lies in respect for the law in the construction of the rule of law. A country like this is not going to solve it, whether it is a power like the United States, the path is the integration of an international coalition that confronts crime from the law, not through negotiation and less through simulation, because sooner or later early hugs turn into gunshots.
