A new regime is headed to Washington.
Los Angeles Clippers general manager Michael Winger has agreed to become president of Monumental Basketball, the parent company of the NBA’s Wizards, WNBA’s Mystics and G-League’s Go-Go, according to ESPN.
Monumental spokespeople did not immediately respond to DailyMail.com’s request for confirmation.
Winger has been Clippers president Lawrence Frank’s right-hand man since 2017, during which time the team added superstars such as Kawhi Leonard and Paul George, while failing to advance beyond the conference finals.
In Washington, Winger inherits a 35-47 team that could be losing two of its top players this summer: Kristaps Porzingis and Kyle Kuzma.

Both have until June 21 to opt into the final years of their respective contracts, or choose to enter free agency.
The team’s biggest contract belongs to shooting guard Bradley Beal, who is owed $204 million over the next four seasons.
Monumental owner Ted Leonsis also interviewed New Orleans Pelicans GM Trajan Langdon for the role.
Wizards president and GM Tommy Sheppard announced in April that head coach Wes Unseld Jr. will be back next season. Unseld, the son and namesake of the legendary Washington power forward, is 70-94 in two seasons at the helm.
