Woman is killed instantly after being hit by a garbage truck in Sydney’s west

A woman was killed instantly after she was hit by a garbage truck in Sydney’s west on Tuesday morning.
Emergency services crews were called to Gurney Road in Chester Hill following reports a pedestrian had been hit by the truck shortly after 8.30am.
Paramedics attempted to revive the woman but she died at the scene, NSW Police stated.

Paramedics worked on the woman at the scene, (pictured above) but she was unable to be revived
Police have since set up a crime scene and closed Gurney Road between Miller Road and Campbell Hill Road.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible.
The garbage truck driver has been taken to a nearby hospital for mandatory blood and alcohol tests.
