Woolworths urgently recalls millions of two and three-litre home brand milk bottles due to strong ‘chemical taste’
Woolworths has urgently recalled a batch of 2L and 3L Full Cream Milk cartons after reports the product has a strong ‘chemical taste’.
The supermarket said they were withdrawing all cartons with an expiry date of January 4, 2021 despite the product posing no health risk to customers.
One shopper complained on Facebook the milk smelled ‘like poison straight from the bottle’.

A Woolworths spokesman said they recalled the milk last week as a precautionary measure in the ACT, Victoria and a limited number of stores in NSW.
Anyone who bought the dairy product with the specified expiry date can return it to any Woolworths store for a full refund or replacement.
‘This followed feedback on the taste of this particular batch from a small number of customers,’ the spokesman said.
‘The batch has been tested by our Victorian milk supplier and it is absolutely safe for customers to consume the product.’
The company’s Facebook page has received multiple complaints from customers over the past few days about the quality of the milk.
‘Just letting you guys know this batch of milk has a bad chemical taste to it,’ one said.
‘I have had this same issue with two bottles, same expiry date purchased in Canberra,’ another added.
