Liverpool, led by Klopp, faces his opponent, Villarreal, the surprise of the season, in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final, on Wednesday evening.
“We analyzed Villarreal in depth,” Klopp said. “I had great respect for them and for coach Emery, because I watched their match against Bayern Munich and Juventus.”
He added, “But when I analyzed their matches carefully, they are amazing. Emery is a coach who is obsessed with details and prepares for all scenarios in the match in a wonderful way.”
Klopp stressed that Villarreal have different ways to build play and different ways to pressure the opponent, to deal with the variables of each match.
Villarreal is the biggest surprise in the Champions League this season, having eliminated Juventus and Bayern Munich in the previous roles.
