Yesterday, Monday, X Corp, the company that owns the X platform (formerly Twitter), closed a new account launched by the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Hamas movement, on the X platform, and published on it some of its operations against the Israeli occupation army.
The Al-Qassam Brigades had launched its official account on the “X” platform on the evening of Monday, January 8, 2024, to share news of the resistance, the latest military operations, and developments in the confrontation it is waging against the Israeli occupation forces during the war in Gaza.
Al-Qassam’s account only lasted a few hours before the platform closed it, claiming that it “violates the platform’s standards.”
When the journalist and political activist Jackson Hinkle, owner of “X,” asked: Elon Musk“Why was Hamas’s account banned on the platform while Israeli terrorists are allowed to keep their accounts?
Platform owner Elon Musk responded by saying: “This was a difficult decision. While many government leaders, including in the United States, advocate killing people, we have the UN exemption rule.”
This was a tough call.
While many government leaders, including in the USA, do call for killing people, we have a “UN exemption rule”; if a government is recognized by the UN, we will not suspend their accounts.

Musk added, “If the United Nations recognizes a government, we will not suspend its accounts. Hamas is not recognized as a government by the United Nations, so its membership has been suspended.”
