Barcelona’s centre-back Iñigo Martinez received written instructions from coach Xavi Hernandez in the 58th minute of the Barcelona match against Real Sociedad, which ended in a fatal victory for the Catalan team with a clean goal.
Martinez joked with reporters after the match, saying, “There were instructions for me and others for my teammates, and they were so many that I don’t even remember what I said… and I didn’t even know what to say to my teammates.”
This player assumed the role of coach, and took the task entrusted to him seriously, to the point that he did not get rid of the “coaching” role until the 70th minute after getting rid of the card.

Xavi explained in a press conference after the match, “The small card was due to a tactical problem because with the changes we made there may be doubts in the positions.”
Written instructions from Xavi came immediately after the changes made by the Spanish coach in the 57th minute, as he included Pedri instead of Firmin, and Ferran Torres instead of Robert Lewandowski.
It seems that Iñigo Martinez conveyed the instructions well to his teammates, because Barca’s performance not only improved in the last half hour, but also won the match with a fatal goal through Uruguayan Ronald Araujo in the 92nd minute of the match.
The video assistant referee technology was fair to the Catalan team, as the referee decided to award the goal after canceling it for offside.
Barcelona raised its score to 27 points in third place, 4 points behind leaders Girona, and a point behind Real Madrid, who is in second place.
