When users select “Accept All,” they authorize Yahoo and its partners to store and access information on their devices. This consent allows for the collection and processing of personal data, including precise geolocation, IP addresses, and browsing and search history. The stated purposes for this data collection are to deliver personalized advertising and content, measure their effectiveness, conduct audience research, and support the development of new services.
The platform clarifies that some cookies are essential for core functionalities. These are used to deliver its sites and applications, authenticate users, implement security measures to prevent spam and abuse, and measure aggregated, non-personalized site usage.
Users who do not wish for their personal data to be used for these additional advertising and analytical purposes can select “Refuse All.” A third option, “Manage Privacy Settings,” allows for granular control over which data-sharing permissions are granted.
