MIAMI — The New York Yankees will debut a significantly retooled roster as they begin their series against the Miami Marlins. Following an active trade deadline, the team has integrated six new players for the season’s stretch drive.
To strengthen the bullpen, the Yankees acquired right-handed relievers David Bednar, Jake Bird, and Camilo Doval. The team also reinforced its lineup and defense by adding left-handed hitting third baseman Ryan McMahon and versatile, right-handed hitters Amed Rosario and Jose Caballero.
Friday night’s series opener in Miami will provide the first look at how the new acquisitions will be incorporated into the lineup and establish the pecking order in the revamped bullpen.
