New York (Trends Wide Business) – It’s that time of year again – this Wednesday is National Coffee Day in America.
This year’s commemoration comes just as Americans are resuming their coffee-drinking habits, according to the National Coffee Association. Coffee consumption has returned to pre-crisis levels thanks to the relaxation of health security restrictions and customers increasingly comfortable pre-ordering in apps, according to the organization’s research.
On the occasion of this day, whose origin is not clear, Starbucks, Dunkin ‘and other chains will give away various products this Wednesday. Here are some of this year’s Coffee Day deals:
For one day only, Starbucks offers free coffee – customers who bring a “clean, empty, reusable cup” to any US location will receive a free cup of signature Pike Place coffee. But don’t bother carrying your entire coffee pot, because Starbucks is limiting free refills to 590 milliliters, which is about the size of a large mug.
Starbucks just reinstated a program that allows customers to bring their own cups, following a temporary hiatus enforced by COVID-19 in 2020.
This Wednesday, Dunkin ‘is giving away a medium hot or iced coffee with any purchase. The promotion is limited to members of your DD Perks loyalty program. Cold coffee is excluded.
Lately, restaurant chains are offering gifts exclusively to members of rewards programs, as the benefits attract customers by incentivizing them to choose those brands over the competition.
The programs also allow restaurant owners to access customer purchase data and ordering habits, helping them target diners with personalized offers.
Like Dunkin ‘, the convenience store chain offers a free coffee of any size with the purchase of a baked good to members of its 7Rewards loyalty program.
Coffee and donut at Krispy Kreme
The donut chain gives away a coffee and a donut without the need for purchase in its establishments in the United States. Of course, there is a catch: Customers who want a free coffee and donut have to be members of the rewards program. However, those who are not can get free coffee.
Wawa gives away coffee
There is no catch here. Wawa will give away a coffee of any size throughout this Wednesday at its approximately 900 stores on the East Coast. The company said it expects to deliver nearly 2 million cups of coffee.
