Young woman, 24, who married a man almost TWICE her age shares what her parents thought

A couple living in Australia have opened the veil on their 22-year age gap relationship after tying to knot last year.

Sav, 24, and Mark, 46, who go by @savandmark on TikTok and reside in Sydney, got married in 2021 after meeting each other on the dating app Tinder.

Sav freely admits she has always wanted to date ‘older’ men and her Tinder age settings were set ‘up to 55’ so she could attract someone in the top age bracket.

‘There is a misconception that older men just want to get with younger women and they “control” them but there are two people in this relationship and I make decisions with him,’ she said on TikTok.

The happy couple moved in together two years after they met and pride themselves on being good communicators that share their hopes, wants and needs.

While their friends and family have all accepted their age gap relationship, there was a period of learning on both sides.

‘I met Mark’s mother around the same time I met Mark. Christine and I became pretty good friends pretty quickly. Her and I would go to art shows together and get breakfast and lunch,’ Sav said in a recent YouTube video.

‘She used to say “I think there is a huge spark between you and Mark” but at the same time she said I was a little too cool for him and I should definitely think about other people.

‘But it was later on when we actually got together.’

While their friends and family have all accepted their age gap relationship, there was a period of learning on both sides

Mark added: ‘She was pretty chill about the whole thing. She saw a kindred spirit in Sav, both of them have an all-consuming love of art.’

‘My dad worked across the road from the apartment blocks Mark was living in. And one day I was leaving at about 7am and bumped into my dad,’ she said.

‘We went and grabbed some coffee and I told him I was seeing a guy who lived in this apartment. He asked how old he was and I said “oh he’s 40”. And he said “oh great, what’s he like?”‘

‘Now how my mum found out… I was staying at her house for a few weeks and she went away for the weekend. I invited Mark over. Then I get a phone call from my mum who immediately says “who is that man in my house?” So he packed up and left pretty quickly.

‘It was a bit of a rough start [being discovered on a nanny cam] but after awhile she saw how happy we were and got past the trauma of seeing us together.’

‘They all came to our wedding and they’re happy we’re together so everyone else should be too’.

Many of Mark and Sav’s TikTok followers applaud the pair for navigating the waters of an age gap relationship together, with many saying Mark looks a lot younger than he actually is.
