Owned by Paypal and promoted by some of the biggest content creators on the planet – Honey, on paper at least, was a winning formula. A browser extension, Honey marketed itself as a tool that automatically applies discount coupons on websites, so that users can save money on various purchases.
The extension, however, has instead been subject to a range of concerning allegations. YouTuber MegaLag, who regularly exposes a range of scams on his account, covered a slew of concerning details about the Paypal-owned extension.
This was despite the fact that creators such as MrBeast, Pokimane, and PewDiePie promoted Honey. According to MegaLag however, they might also be victims in this case, just like the thousands of users who actually heeded the creators and used Honey.
