Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane, the French coach, expressed his displeasure and annoyance at the statements made by Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman regarding the referee’s “favoritism” for the royal team.
Zidane said at the press conference that precedes his team’s match against Granada, scheduled for Wednesday evening, in the 15th round of the Spanish League: “Coman’s talk about arbitration bothered me, but this is exactly what happens when you work with Real Madrid.”
“I have never talked about the referees, they are a part of the game like the players and everyone else, their work is difficult and complicated, sometimes they make the right decisions and sometimes they make mistakes. That’s it,” Zizou added.
Coman stated that there are things that are not understood, commenting on the handball incident of Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos during his match against his host Eibar last weekend, which ended with the royal team winning 3-1.
The Dutch coach said: “The repetition of talk (about arbitration) is not obligatory, because there are things that are not understood, and if you ask 10 people in Madrid, 9 of them will definitely say the handball on Ramos is a penalty, and we already know.”
