Queretaro, Qro. Zoho, a technology company, projects an investment of 10 million dollars over the next five years in its operations center in Querétaro, where it provides support to its clients in the Latin American market.
This growth plan implies doubling the investment of 10 million dollars that the company made in the first five years of activity in the state, said the director of Customer Experience (Customer Success) of Zoho in Latin America, Fernando Sotelo.
Currently, the firm of Indian origin employs 100 people in the state, with the expectation of incorporating 200 more in the next three years and maintaining a growth rate that allows it to reach 500 collaborators in the next 10 years.
Of the total workforce that Zoho has in Querétaro, around 80% were hired within the framework of the pandemic.
The firm’s operations center is located in the state capital; They also have a new unit in San Juan del Río, where 20 of their collaborators work, as part of the company’s growth and expansion plans.
Fernando Sotelo stated that one of the purposes of the firm is to expand on the edges of urban areas, in order to identify talent in rural areas.
In parallel, the manager announced that the company is studying the installation of a new data center, a location that is still under analysis, but alternatives are being explored in Latin America; this project would mean an additional investment for the firm that offers operating systems.
“We still have no idea if it will be in Mexico, in any country in Latin America, but we do know that we want one, for all the privacy and security part; we have in the United States, but many of our clients no longer want to be there,” he explained.
According to the manager, this data center is expected to be ready in 2024, since they recently installed two: one in Canada and another in Australia.
Market with potential
Meanwhile, for next year it is estimated to expand the presence of the brand in Mexico, as it is one of its markets with potential growth.
For now, in this market Zoho reports an annual growth rate of 30%, deepened the director of Public Relations and Communication of Zoho for Latin America, José Alejandro González.
Mexico, Colombia and Brazil are part of the fastest growing places for the company, being the three areas where it has offices.
“Little by little we are going to expand, we are going to open a hub, maybe in the next year or two years Chile would open, all depending on how we are growing, (to) create small offices where we have people from there who know the market, that we have sales people, technical people, who can go and visit customers directly”, explained Fernando Sotelo.
