New England Patriots tight end Austin Hooper has been cleared from the NFL’s concussion protocol and will not carry an injury designation into Sunday’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Hooper’s status was upgraded after he participated fully in practice on Thursday and Friday, following a limited session on Wednesday. While Hunter Henry remains the team’s top pass-catching tight end, Hooper returns to a highly favorable matchup. He will face a Bengals defense that has been the league’s worst against the position, allowing a league-high 80.8 receiving yards per game and 12 touchdowns to tight ends through 10 games this season.
