New York Jets cornerback Kris Boyd is in critical condition after being shot in Midtown Manhattan early Sunday morning.
According to police, the shooting happened around 2 a.m. on West 38th Street near Seventh Avenue. While authorities have not officially identified the victim, sources have confirmed it was the 29-year-old NFL player.
Boyd was transported to Bellevue Hospital. Police have made no arrests, and the investigation is ongoing.
A veteran defensive back, Boyd joined the Jets this year. His career began with the Minnesota Vikings in 2019, and he has also played for the Arizona Cardinals and Houston Texans. He is currently on the Jets’ injured reserve list.
