John Wick Hex, the only officially licensed game based on the popular film franchise, will be permanently removed from all digital and physical storefronts on July 17, 2025.
According to a notice posted on the game’s Steam page, new purchases will be disabled after this date. However, players who already own the title will still be able to access and play their copies.
While an official reason was not provided, the delisting is widely believed to be the result of an expiring license for the John Wick intellectual property. The limited lifespan of licensing agreements is a common issue in the video game industry, often leading to the removal of titles from sale. The Forza Horizon series, for example, has seen past entries delisted due to expiring car and music licenses.
Unlike a typical action shooter, John Wick Hex is a unique strategy game often described as “gun-fu chess,” where players must tactically manage a timeline to overcome enemies. The game features a notable voice cast, with Ian McShane and the late Lance Reddick reprising their roles from the films, alongside veteran voice actor Troy Baker.
With the removal date fast approaching, interested fans have a limited window to purchase John Wick Hex before it becomes unavailable.
