The Revolution (6-11-7, 25 pts.) are returning to action after a 15-day break, continuing a crucial four-game homestand. Following a 3-1 loss to CF Montréal in their last outing, New England aims to secure vital points in the final 10 games of the regular season to make a late push for a playoff spot.
D.C. United (4-14-7, 19 pts.) faces a steep climb, sitting 16 points below the postseason line with just nine games remaining. The club recently appointed René Weiler as head coach in mid-July but has continued to struggle, conceding 25 goals during its current winless run.
To celebrate 30 seasons of club history, the Revolution will welcome back a host of former players for Alumni Night. Festivities include a pre-match “Meet the Greats” event at the Sports Illustrated Pavilion, offering fans a chance to interact with legends from every era of the team’s history. The attending alumni will also be honored on the field at halftime. As part of the celebration, the first fans through the gates will receive a retro viewfinder showcasing iconic moments and players from the club’s past.
In a nod to their history, the Revolution will debut “The ’96” third kit from the adidas x MLS Archive Collection. The jersey features a retro design with the team’s original wordmark, bold red color, and a gradient pattern. The kit will be paired with Bright Red socks and Night Sky Blue shorts and numerals.
