Season’s First Road Test Awaits in South Florida


The Tampa Bay Lightning are set to face their in-state rival, the Florida Panthers, on Saturday in the first of four meetings between the two teams this season. The game will take place at Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise, Florida.

Historically, Steven Stamkos has been the franchise’s top scorer against Florida, recording 81 points (41 goals, 40 assists) in 67 games. Among active players, Victor Hedman leads with 50 points (7 goals, 43 assists) in 68 career games.

In last season’s series, Brayden Point (3 goals, 2 assists) and Victor Hedman (5 assists) co-led the Lightning in scoring against the Panthers with five points each. Jake Guentzel and Darren Raddysh also contributed significantly with four points apiece.
