Damian Lillard is back. After a terrible start to the season, the Portland star has played several games at a better level and last night, hosting Philadelphia, he made the best of the latter, scoring 39 points. His great performance led the Blazers to victory (118-111) and allows them to finally get a positive balance.
To reach those 39 points, Lillard posted a 10 of 21 from the field (5 of 13 on triples) and a 14 of 14 from the free throw line, numbers to which he added 7 assists and 3 blocks. The point guard admits that he is beginning to find the rhythm that he lacked in the first bars of the competition.
“I said it after we played Philadelphia on November 1, it’s those tough moments that give you the opportunity to improve and move up. It is something that shows your true character, if it is true that you can deal with difficult and critical times. In the last five or six games, I’m starting to feel better and better. I still don’t feel completely fit, but I’m getting there, ”he analyzes.
The Blazers won, but they made life difficult when they had it more expensive. In the last minutes of the third period they managed to grow their income to 18 points; however, the Sixers did not give up and Tobias Harris (28 points and 8 rebounds) left the distance between both teams in just two points with six minutes remaining (97-95). In Portland they were not nervous and achieved a partial of 8-0 that paved the way to victory.
