(Trends Wide)– The four University of Idaho students found dead Sunday night in a home near campus have been identified, the Moscow City, Idaho Police Department reported Monday.
The students were Ethan Chapin, 20, of Conway, Washington; Madison Mogen, 21, of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; Xana Kernodle, 20, of Avondale, Arizona; and Kaylee GonCalves, 21, of Rathdrum, Idaho.
Moscow police said they are investigating the deaths as homicides. However, he did not provide any other information about the facts. As of noon this Monday, there were no suspects in custody. Authorities have asked anyone with information about the case to contact police.
“The Moscow Police Department and the city of Moscow are deeply saddened by the families of these individuals, their colleagues and friends, and our community during this time,” the institution said.
“We send our sincerest condolences to each and every person affected by this incident,” he added.

Officers responded to a call about an unconscious person shortly before noon Sunday and discovered the four bodies, the Moscow Police Department said in a news release.
“It is with deep sadness that I share with you that the university was notified today of the deaths of four University of Idaho students living off campus who are believed to be victims of homicide,” said university president Scott Green. , in a statement addressed to the community.
The tragic discovery occurs while another US university campus, the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, was experiencing an intense search early Monday morning for an armed man, identified as a local student, accused of killing three people and of injuring two others on Sunday on university grounds.
At the University of Idaho, in-person and online classes this Monday have been canceled and will resume Tuesday.
