Nine people were killed in an attack on a hotel in the Somali capital, on Sunday, according to a police spokesman, who indicated that the security forces had ended the attack by “Al-Shabab” fighters.

A car bomb exploded on Sunday evening, followed by shooting between the militants of the Al Qaeda-linked movement and the security forces at the Afrique Hotel, and the fighting continued until Monday morning.
“The operation is now over. 9 were killed, including 4 attackers, and more than 10 civilians were wounded,” Sadiq Ali told reporters on the scene and via Facebook.
