A murder investigation has been launched following the death of a teenager who was stabbed in east London, police have said.
Officers were called just before 7pm on Friday following reports of a stabbing in Woodman Street, Newham, East London.
Police and members of the London Ambulance Service (LAS) attended and found a boy, believed to be aged 15, suffering injuries.
Despite the efforts of the emergency services he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 15-year-old was found with fatal injuries in Woodman Street.
Police said his next of kin have been informed and no arrests have been made.

A section 60 order – allowing police to stop and search anyone without needing reasonable grounds – is in place in the area, police added.

Police and London Ambulance Service paramedics attended and found the 17-year-old with stab wounds and injuries caused by a ‘corrosive substance’.
He was taken to a west London hospital. His injuries are believed to be life threatening.

He appeared to be clutching a white length of tissue to his face.
So far there have been no arrests but an investigation is underway.
Several roads in the vicinity will remain closed while officers conduct enquiries, police said.
