Spanish police arrested a former Mercedes-Benz worker after driving a stolen bulldozer in which he destroyed 50 cars valued at 5 million pounds.
“The 38-year-old worker drove a bulldozer that he had stolen from a construction site for a distance of more than 25 kilometers towards the industrial zone in Victoria, the capital of the Basque Country in northern Spain,” the British newspaper “Daily Mail” reported, citing a local police report.
She said, “The accused worked at the Mercedes-Benz site between 2016 and 2017.”
She indicated that one of the security guards had to fire warning shots in the air to compel the man to stop his “attack” until the police arrived.
The police noted that the incident was a “work-related retaliatory attack.”
A police spokesman in Erziantza said, “There are about 50 damaged vehicles,” while local reports refer to “69 vehicles.”
According to local sources, among the cars affected were the “Mercedes-Benz”, the fifth class, worth about £ 90,000, and the new “eVitos”.
