Today, Sunday, data from the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) for infectious diseases showed that the number of deaths in the country rose by 465, bringing the total number to 40,343.
Earlier, German Chancellor Angela Merkel said, in a video message posted on the German government website, that the coming winter weeks will be the most difficult in terms of the development of the Covid-19 epidemic in Germany.
Since December 16, measures have been tightened in the country, as all establishments have been closed, except for groceries, small appliances, drug sales, pharmacies, optometrists, banks, newspaper kiosks, post offices, pet stores and medical institutions.
Residents were also asked not to leave homes without a good reason, and people coming from dangerous areas, from the point of view of the spread of the epidemic, were required to pass a double test for COVID-19 upon arrival in Germany.
