The US Tsunami Warning Center said that no tsunami was expected after a 6.6-magnitude earthquake struck the sea southeast of Easter Island in Chile.

The quake struck at a depth of 10 kilometers (6.21 miles) and its epicenter was 1,483 kilometers southeast of Hanga Rua on Easter Island, according to the US Geological Survey.
