On Friday, the Border Ports Authority in Iraq announced the seizure of 370 boxes containing a “capsule envelope” to fill medicines at the northern port of Umm Qasr in Basra Governorate.
In a statement, the authority said, “Its detachments have seized concealed materials for the purpose of smuggling (370 cartons) capsule envelopes to fill the medicines with the plasma cutting machine at the northern port of Umm Qasr.”
The statement indicated that “the materials were seized outside the boundaries of the customs center at the authority’s search and investigation control.”
He continued: “The consignment transaction was carried out customs by the inspection committee of the center, contrary to the regulations and instructions.”
