The Iranian Revolutionary Guard repels an attack by militants in the southwest of the country

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard confirmed that it had repelled an attack by militants affiliated with a separatist movement in the southwestern province of Khuzestan.

In a statement, the Revolutionary Guards indicated that, “at exactly one o’clock in the morning on Friday, a terrorist group affiliated with the separatist (Al-Struggle) Movement attacked a military facility and a police station in the city of Shush.”

He added, “The attackers opened fire, attempting to storm the headquarters, but the headquarters guards prevented the attackers from achieving their goals.”

He continued, “An attacker was killed and another was wounded, who was arrested, and a number of weapons and ammunition left by the attackers were seized.”
