Group D gets decided
Good morning and welcome to the ABC’s live Euro 2020 blog as Group D gets decided.
The Czech Republic takes on England at Wembley, while simultaneously Croatia and Scotland do battle at Hampden Park.
It’s a massive match for Scotland, arguably the biggest match in its recent history, with a win taking them into the knockout rounds of a major tournament.
Croatia, who are a shadow of the team that reached the World Cup final just three years ago, are also in with a hunt of getting to that magical four-point mark, although they also need to win at what will be a hugely pro-Scotland crowd of around 12,000 at Hampden Park in Glasgow — about 25 per cent capacity.
Down in London, the Czech Republic and England have both already qualified for the last 16, but will be battling to win the group. Additionally, a big win for either Scotland or Croatia could see one of those teams drop to third in the group, so there is an incentive to get at least a point in the bag.
