Yesterday, Queen Letizia of Spain met the First Lady of Paraguay, Silvana López Moreira, to visit the ruins of the Jesuit mission of Jesus de Tavarango, according to a report published in the British newspaper “Daily Mail”.
Donning a versatile red jacket, Letizia paid tribute to the work and dedication of Spanish aid workers in Paraguay, who are working to improve access to health and education services and combat trafficking in women in a South American province.

Letizia arrived in Paraguay on Tuesday evening at Asuncion Silvio Pettirossi International Airport, and was received by First Lady Silvana Abdo, as well as Foreign Minister Euclides Acevedo and Ambassador of Madrid Carmen Castilla Ruiz.

The trip lasted three days, during which the Queen and the First Lady carried out many activities, focusing on projects between the two countries, with a special focus on women’s empowerment, health, education and readiness for youth employment.
The Queen appeared without her husband, King Philip VI, aged 53, and was joined by her daughter Princess Leonor, aged 15, and Infanta Sofia, aged 14.

It is noteworthy that the first meeting between the Queen and her husband was at a dinner party in 2002, and the two entered into a romantic relationship, and they held a royal wedding in May 2004.
The Queen was previously a news anchor, the granddaughter of a taxi driver, and the eldest daughter of Jose Jose Ortiz Alvarez, a journalist, and his first wife, Maria de la Paloma Rocasolano Rodriguez, a nurse.
