Working in a flexible environment has created different needs for employers and employees, but also for those who offer their real estate services, as they will now have to adapt their spaces to the new requirements.
The return to offices will no longer be like before, working in a flexible environment has created new needs for workers, which translates into new opportunities for companies dedicated to office rentals, who are already preparing themselves with new proposals.
According to the company JLL, relaxation spaces, healthy food services and outdoor areas top the list of amenities that can attract workers to their offices in the city, as they seek a feeling of connection with their colleagues alongside environments that are as comfortable as home, according to their own survey of office workers in a “Regenerative Workplace Report.”
“As employees move from working from home to a post-pandemic future, people expect their employers to be more attentive and their workplace to offer a new regenerative experience,” says Flore Pradère, global research director at JLL. Work Dynamics.
According to the JLL study, currently only 17% of workers have access to relaxation spaces, 19% to healthy food and 25% to outdoor areas. For those that do, uptake of office wellness services is high, with 70% of workers using them on a weekly basis, “Employers who don’t build a strategy around desired experiences will have a hard time hiring and retain the best talent in their industry,” says Ben Tindale, managing director of accounts for JLL Work Dynamics – Australasia.
Wellness
Next, it is detailed about the three main wishes of the employees of the companies:
1) Relaxation spaces. On the whole, workers place relaxation-oriented office spaces at the top of their expectations. Some 45% of those surveyed cited it as important for restoring their well-being and achieving lasting performance.
2) Healthy food services. In second place, with 44% of workers choosing this service as an important element of the office, are healthy food services. This is something that the global tech giants have been leading for years.
3) Outdoor spaces. Having planters of nature around brought numerous benefits to offices before the pandemic, including reduced stress, increased productivity, and reduced illness. And during lockdowns, houseplants became the must-have item for workers at home.
