Nuñez-Neto explained that once Title 42 ends, migrants will be able to file an application to obtain political asylum in the United States, although he admitted that it is not clear how they will do it.

“We are looking at how we can do to have a safe, orderly process that works at the entry points,” he explained after clarifying that they have been working on the project for more than a year.

In October, the United States agreed with Mexico on a border plan to give access to its territory to 24,000 Venezuelan migrants by air, in addition to offering temporary work visas to foreigners from different nations.
