Investing Show: Mergers, market crashes and a dividend hero’s favourite shares
City of London investment trust has raised its dividend payout for 50 years in a row. That enviable record has earned it top spot in the Dividend Heroes list, compiled by the Association of Investment Companies.
Job Curtis – the trust’s manager for the past 25 years – joins Simon Lambert, of This is Money, on the Investing Show to discuss income investing and his best ideas. He reveals the shares he likes – including housebuilders and a big supermarket – and how he looks for companies that can deliver solid dividends.
Also, on this fortnight’s show, Richard Hunter, head of research at Wilson King, looks at the pick-up in mergers and acquisitions and how investors can work out if a deal is good news for them.
Meanwhile, Nick Batsford, of TipTV, takes a look at some of the bearish calls that a market crash could hit.
