The Bulgarian authorities announced that an AIR FRANCE plane had made an emergency landing at Sofia airport due to the behavior of a passenger.
The officials indicated that the plane was on its way from Paris to New Delhi, and made an emergency landing at Sofia Airport around 5 pm (15:00 GMT) due to the behavior of one of the passengers.
An Indian passenger began to behave aggressively shortly after take-off, fighting with other passengers and assaulting a flight attendant, said Iveilo Angelov, an official at the National Investigation Agency.
“His aggressive behavior prompted the flight commander to seek an emergency landing in Sofia,” he added.
He continued, “We are investigating his behavior and motives .. There is no reasonable explanation for his behavior.”
The man was removed from the plane and charged with endangering the safety of flight. If found guilty, he faces up to ten years in prison.
The plane resumed its flight to New Delhi.
