The English Heritage Foundation honored the late Princess Diana by placing a blue plaque on her former London apartment, in a sign of shedding light on a historical figure in Britain, on Wednesday.

She shared the apartment with a number of friends from 1979 to 1981, including Virginia Clarke, who helped unveil the English Heritage painting during a ceremony held today, Wednesday, and Diana had described the time she spent in the apartment as the happiest time of her life, according to a book.
