Altos Hornos loses lawsuit vs. the FIU to remove your name from the list of blocked accounts

Blast Furnaces of Mexico (AHMSA), led by Alonso Ancira, lost against the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) a lawsuit requesting that his name be removed from the list of blocked accounts.

Unanimously, the Plenary of the Superior Chamber of the Federal Court of Administrative Justice (TFJA) endorsed the UIF’s decision to have the name on the list of legal entities with bank accounts blocked by the authority.

The presentation, presented by magistrate Juan Manuel Jiménez Illescas, pointed out that AHMSA challenged three administrative acts: the letter issued in 2019 in which the FIU notified the company that it was not appropriate to remove it from the list of blocked accounts.

Also, he challenged the resolution of the same year and the blocking agreement by which the holder of the FIU — at that time Santiago Nieto — determined to include Altos Hornos in the blocked accounts.
