Several American universities decided to cancel the “honorary degrees” it granted to President Donald Trump, after Middlebury College withdrew the honorary certificate it had presented to Trump’s personal lawyer, Rudy Giuliani.
The board of trustees at Lehigh University, a small college in Pennsylvania, voted to cancel the honorary degree it awarded to Trump in 1988.
Hours later, the board of trustees of Wagner University, a private college located on Staten Island in New York, followed suit, voting to strip Trump of the honorary degree awarded to him in 2004.
University of Pennsylvania alumni also pressure the administration to strip Trump of his bachelor’s degree he earned in 1968, by threatening to stop making donations, although it is very difficult for the college to revoke the degree.
Also, 3 banks, “Professional Bank”, Deutsche Bank and Signature Bank, cut their relations with Trump and his organization, closed his accounts and monitored his payment of debts that he had previously taken, in the wake of Trump’s supporters storming the Capitol building on January 6, killing 5 People.
