Smoke rising from the fire of the train
A fire broke out in a train loaded with crude oil after it derailed in Whatcom County, Washington, USA, and the authorities issued orders to evacuate residents within a half-mile of the accident site.
The BNSF Railways said in a statement on Twitter that the train veered off course late Tuesday morning and five cars derailed.
She indicated that a fire broke out in the last train cars and that emergency response crews were working to assess the situation.
The evacuation was announced online by a Washington state public relations official, who urged all “residents and visitors” to leave the vicinity of the burning train, as the evacuation zone includes an elementary school, church and many businesses.
BNSF Railway has confirmed that a train carrying crude oil derailed in Custer, Wash., Around 11:40 am on Dec. 22. Initial reports indicate that between three to five tank cars derailed and there are reports of a fire toward the end of the train. (1/2)

The cause of the accident has not yet been determined and no injuries have been reported so far.
The accident occurred in Custer, a small town of less than 400 people and located just miles from the US-Canada border.
