After finishing second in the 2021 NBA Rookie of the Year, Minnesota Timberwolves’ Anthony Edwards was on a mission to prove himself in his second season. Fortunately for him, his body is still growing at the age of twenty which will help him continue to develop as a player.
Edwards stood at 6-foot-4 when selected by Minnesota with the top pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, but he is now closer to 6-foot-6.
Timberwolves coach Chris Finch recently spoke about Christopher Heine from The Star Tribune, confirming the growth spurt of the young star.
Edwards is enjoying his growth spurt and has been cracking a few jokes about it recently with Finch.
“Don’t let me get 6-6 or I’ll be Michael Jordan,” Edwards joked to his coach.
A player like Edwards has great talent as it is, so a few extra inches will speed up his development. He’s the type to potentially be the Timberwolves’ top player over the next few seasons.
As a novice, Edwards averaged 19.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game.
