“Bloomberg” said that the European Union is studying a new proposal from Britain regarding fishing rights, while British Prime Minister Boris Johnson is trying to reach a trade agreement at the last minute.
Under the latest proposal, Britain was prepared to allow EU fishing boats to keep two-thirds of its share of fish, the agency report said, after it had insisted last week that the union accept a 60 percent cut.
In the past few days, the European Union has offered a 25 percent cut over a six-year transitional period, a proposal that France has not accepted and has sparked anger among the bloc’s fishing industry, according to a report by the Financial Times.
